It is a specialized instrument for measuring the ocular visual field, that is, the portion of space that can be perceived by the eye when it is fixed at a point. It allows detection of central and peripheral vision defects, proving essential in the screening, diagnosis and monitoring of diseases such as glaucoma, retinopathy, optic neuropathy and related neurological conditions (neuritis, cerebral ischemia, multiple sclerosis, etc.). It guarantees a noninvasive examination, indicated for adults and children over 6 years of age.
The new Humphrey® 3 Zeiss model represents the technological benchmark in computerized visual campimetry:
- Enables faster execution times;
- provides detailed and reliable information, including on disease progression;
- analyzes changes in the visual field over time, thus providing the ophthalmologist with a valuable tool to define the likelihood and speed of disease evolution and to set up the most appropriate treatment in a timely manner.
