On Nov. 22, Istituto Fanfani will be present at "A passo di donna," the symbolic walk through Florence's neighborhoods to remember victims of feminicide and raise community awareness against gender-based violence.
For us, participating in this initiative is not just a symbolic gesture: care means taking care of people all round, including promoting safety, respect and prevention in daily life. For this reason, the "Fanfani Red Bench," donated to the City of Florence as a concrete sign of our commitment to women and the culture of respect, will be inaugurated in the Piazza della Indipendenza office.
The walk will end in Piazza della Signoria with the "100donnevestitedirosso" flash mob , a collective moment of solidarity involving associations, schools and citizens. Red, the symbolic color of the fight against violence against women, will be the common thread uniting all participants.
Participating in initiatives like this allows us to put into practice the values that guide our daily work: listening, caring, prevention and inclusion. The UNI/PdR 125:2022 and ISO 30415:2021 certifications testify to our commitment to gender equality, diversity and respect for all, values that we also want to share with the community.
The commitment goes beyond Florence: the Lifenet Group, of which we are a part, promotes similar initiatives throughout Italy, emphasizing how prevention and a culture of respect are an integral part of caring for people.
Recognizing the signs of an abusive relationship - control, isolation, humiliation, threats or physical and psychological coercion - and knowing where to turn can make all the difference. The free, 24-hour number 1522 offers listening and support to victims, guaranteeing confidentiality and anonymity.
With the Red Bench and the symbolic walk, we want to remind people that caring also means preventing, supporting and protecting people in their daily lives. Every small gesture of awareness and solidarity counts: together we can build a safer and more respectful community for all.
