Vascular Prevention in Florence | July Promotion | Fanfani
3 Vascular Prevention Programs at the Fanfani Institute
Your legs work hard every day. It’s time to listen to them. Throughout the month of July, the Fanfani Institute is offering vascular prevention programs to promote vascular health.
Why Vascular Prevention Is Important
Vascular diseases are among the most common and, at the same time, among the most underestimated.
Summer heat worsens existing venous symptoms; long car or plane trips increase the risk of blood clots; and many signs (heavy legs, evening swelling, visible capillaries) are often attributed to fatigue.
July is the month when our bodies tell us the most about the health of our legs, and when it’s worth taking that information seriously.
Why the visit is important Angiology
- Management of Limb Disorders: Helps treat painful or disabling conditions, such as chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and thrombosis, significantly improving quality of life.
- Early Diagnosis of Silent Diseases: Through noninvasive tests such ascolor Doppler ultrasound, the specialist can detect very dangerous asymptomatic conditions such as aneurysms and atherosclerosis.

We are here to accompany you
Vascular prevention is one of the simplest steps you can take and one of the most beneficial in the long run. A targeted screening can detect problems early on that, without obvious symptoms, would otherwise go unnoticed.
Who is vascular prevention recommended for?
It is particularly recommended for people over 40, those experiencing symptoms such as heavy legs, evening swelling, or visible capillaries, those with a family history of venous (varicose veins, thrombosis) or arterial conditions, and, in general, those whose jobs involve long periods of standing or prolonged sitting.
What does the Start package include?
The Start package includes a specialized angiology consultation and a bilateral venous color Doppler ultrasound of the lower extremities. It is the first recommended screening for those with typical venous symptoms or who wish to undergo an initial preventive evaluation. Price: 195 €.
Why focus on vascular prevention in July?
Summer is the most stressful season for the venous system: the heat worsens symptoms of heavy legs and swelling, long car or plane trips increase the risk of blood clots due to prolonged immobility, and dehydration can contribute to changes in blood clotting. Getting a checkup before or during the summer helps prevent problems and better manage the season.
What does "color Doppler ultrasound" mean?
It is a noninvasive ultrasound exam that allows for the visualization of blood flow in the veins and arteries. It uses ultrasound and is completely painless. The Fanfani campaign includes both venous Doppler ultrasound (Start and Plus) and arterial Doppler ultrasound (Plus and Full) of the lower extremities.
Who is the Full package recommended for?
The Full Package is designed specifically for those with a family history of thrombotic conditions (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), those who have already experienced such episodes themselves, or those with multiple vascular risk factors. In addition to the clinical and diagnostic evaluations included in the Plus Package, it includes a comprehensive blood test for thrombophilia risk. We recommend discussing this with our office to determine whether this is the most appropriate package for your situation.
Do blood clots always cause symptoms?
No, and that is one of the reasons why prevention is important. Many cases of deep vein thrombosis begin silently or with subtle symptoms (mild swelling, soreness). Venous color Doppler ultrasound is the test that allows for the early detection of abnormalities in deep venous circulation, even in the absence of clear symptoms.
